Oakengates occurs as town in Shropshire, England and now forms part of the new town of Telford. A title has nothing to clean by having Oak or even Gates however is from either either a Ancient Roman title for a vale which was Usc-con & from the mediaeval word 'gait' meaning boundary. And so Usc-con gait is at a boundary of the valley of Usc-con. The history of Oakengates was written by local historiographer Reverend Cartlidge whose title is commemorated in the title of the retirement front yard Cartlidge Home.
A Shrewsbury to Wolverhampton railway line runs preceding the town & there is a station & a burrow (Oakengates Burrow).
